Terms of Service

Last Updated: September 2, 2026

1. What Ever After Exchange is

Ever After Exchange is a marketplace where people buy and sell wedding and event decor. We provide the venue — listings, search, messaging, payments held in escrow, and pickup or shipping coordination. The items themselves are listed and sold by our users: when you buy something, your contract for the item is with the seller. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 to use Ever After Exchange. Keep your login details private — activity on your account is your responsibility. You can delete your account at any time in Settings; accounts with orders still in progress must finish or cancel them first, because a buyer or seller mid-transaction would otherwise lose their counterparty.

3. Listings

Sellers must describe items honestly — real photographs of the actual item, accurate condition, and a price you intend to honour. Listings may not offer anything illegal, counterfeit, hazardous, or unrelated to weddings and events, and may not steer buyers to pay outside the app. We screen listings and messages automatically and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Listings expire after their listing period and can be reactivated.

4. Buying and escrow

When you check out, your payment (processed by Stripe) is held by the platform rather than paid straight to the seller. It is released to the seller only when the transaction is confirmed: for local pickup, when the seller scans the QR code you present at the handoff; for shipping, when the carrier confirms delivery. Until then the money sits in escrow. Showing your pickup code to the seller is your confirmation that you have inspected and accepted the items.

5. Fees

Selling on Ever After Exchange costs a commission, deducted from the sale price before your payout. The current commission rate is shown in the app when you sell. Shipping cost, where applicable, is calculated at checkout and paid by the buyer. Payouts are made to the payout account you connect through Stripe.

6. Local pickup

For pickup orders, buyer and seller agree a time and public place through the order chat. Meet somewhere public — we suggest verified public pickup spots and discourage residential addresses. Both parties confirm arrival in the app, and the handoff completes when the seller scans the buyer’s code. Do not complete the handoff for items you have not received and inspected.

7. Shipping

For shipped orders, the seller must dispatch the item promptly using the label provided, and tracking is shared with both sides. If a seller does not ship within 14 days of the order, the order is cancelled and the buyer automatically refunded.

8. Cancellations, problems and disputes

If something is wrong with an order — the item does not match the listing, arrives damaged, or does not arrive — open a dispute from the order within the dispute window. Escrowed funds stay held while our team reviews and may be refunded in full or in part, released to the seller, or resolved through a return. Our resolution of a dispute is final within the app, and repeated abuse of the dispute process is grounds for suspension.

9. Reviews

After a completed order, both sides can review each other. Reviews must reflect a genuine transaction — you cannot review yourself, and fabricated or retaliatory reviews may be removed.

10. Acceptable use

Do not use Ever After Exchange to harass others, send spam, scrape the service, interfere with its operation, misrepresent who you are, or move transactions off-platform to avoid fees or protections. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do, and remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

11. Our role and liability

We work to keep the marketplace safe — escrowed payments, optional seller verification, moderation — but we do not manufacture, own, inspect or guarantee the items users sell, and we are not a party to the sale itself. To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is”, and our liability to you for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount of the transaction concerned. Nothing in these terms removes rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

12. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the service evolves; material changes will be announced in the app, and continuing to use Ever After Exchange after they take effect means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. Questions about these terms go to support@everafterexchange.com.
